H. E. Dr. Ali bin Ghanem Al-Hajri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, visited His Eminence Abubakar Ibn Umar Al-Kanmi, the Shehu of Borno, at his palace in Maiduguri, during his official visit to the state. His Excellency was accompanied during the visit by the Deputy Governor of Borno State, His Excellency Umar Usman Kadafur, along with a number of government officials.

In his remark while receiving the Ambassador, His Eminence praised the visit, noting that it represents an important step in the friendly relations between the State of Qatar and the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Borno State in particular. He also thanked His Highness the Amir of the country, may God protect him, for his support of humanitarian issues. For his part, H. E. the Ambassador thanked His Eminence for the warm reception, expressing his wishes for further progress and prosperity for relations between the two countries.
